"The purpose of the Society shall be to promote and advance the art and science of oral and maxillofacial surgery and the betterment of public health primarily through educational programs relating to oral and maxillofacial surgery."
The Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons is a non-profit professional organization incorporated in the State of Illinois. Active CSOMS members are graduates of accredited dental schools who have also completed an accredited training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, are licensed to practice dentistry or medicine, and limit their practice exclusively to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Active members must maintain membership in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and their State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Mohammed Qaisi is a Clinical Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Midwestern University and the residency program director of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Cook County Health (Chicago, IL). He received his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine- Shreveport, and his dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Qaisi completed his residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a two year fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Qaisi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Callahan is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Illinois, Chicago . He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine and Masters of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Callahan completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Medical Degree from SUNY Downstate/Kings County Hospital Center. He then completed a 2-year fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Callahan also holds appointments at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center, and Jesse Brown VA.
Dr. James Murphy is an attending oral & maxillofacial surgeon at Cook County Health, Chicago and an assistant professor with Plastic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. He received his medical and dental degrees from University College Cork in Ireland. He completed a medical internship in Ireland before completing a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He subsequently undertook a fellowship in head and neck oncology and reconstruction at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor followed by a fellowship with Plastic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. Dr. Murphy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Matthew Hamedani is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for his undergraduate studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Afterwards, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and Masters Certificate in Clinical Research Methods from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency at The University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hamedani is currently on staff at MacNeal Hospital, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where is an adjunct attending and at Loyola University Medical Center where he is an affiliate assistant professor of surgery.
Dr. Ali Al-Qudsi is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who first obtained his Bachelor of Dentistry from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Next, he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at John H. Stroger, Jr., Hospital of Cook County. Dr. Al-Qudsi practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a particular focus on complex implant rehabilitation (zygomatic and pterygold implants), management of benign pathology and orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery). Dr. Al-Qudsi currently practices in Schaumburg, IL, and is on staff at Hinsdale Hospital, LaGrange Hospital and Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, where is oversees and teaches residents during their training.
Dr. Jordan Ledger completed his undergraduate and dental education at the University of Iowa. He subsequently completed his post-graduate residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Ledger practices full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with primary interests in dental implant surgery, bone grafting, and corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery). Dr. Ledger is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds staff appointments at several area hospitals including Loyola University Medical Center where he is a clinical assistant professor of surgery.
Dr. Wrzosek is board-certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed his undergraduate engineering studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He then served on active duty in the Navy and returned to residency. He earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is now an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, still serves in the Navy Reserve in the Great Lakes region and is also Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern University College of Dentistry.
Ms. Radecki manages the office, operations, and member services of the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. As President of My Own Admin, Inc., Maureen Radecki has 30 years of dental organization management experience. Prior to starting her business, she was the managing editor of several national decorating magazines/catalogs. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in American Studies.
As a member you are a full participant in the OMFS community where you can network with other OMFS professionals to share cases and discuss treatments. CSOMS offers excellent continuing education opportunities at elegant Chicagoland venues and as a member you will enjoy a significantly reduced registration fee. A licensed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon of good moral and professional standing, residing or practicing in the City of Chicago, Cook County or one of the contiguous counties, including those in Indiana and Wisconsin, may be eligible for membership.
